LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – An apartment complex next to the Iroquois High School is being purchased by Jefferson County Public Schools.

Residents say they were given a letter saying they have to move out by December 30. Many of the families say they cannot afford the move because they are on social security or disability.

"I didn't think you'd get a letter one day, and, 'Oh, you gotta leave in 30 days..'" says one tenant. "No warning, no anything!"

Some say they think the complex owner had planned to sell it for months and that they would have appreciated more than one month's notice.
