LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11) — Crews have stopped an ammonia leak in a rail car at the CSX rail yard at Grade Lane and Crittenden Drive.

A CSX employee discovered the leak around 3:30 a.m. Thursday on the train out of Cincinnati.

WHAS11's Gene Kang was at the scene and talked with the Okolona Fire Chief Rich Carlson.

Carlson said it is a Level 2 Hazmat and it has been contained to one rail car. He also said no evacuations are necessary at this time and the leak is not affecting any nearby businesses.

Anhydrous ammonia used for farming, the chief said, and there  was "really no public safety risk" because the leak was small.
