LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Dozens of cars were vandalized Saturday night at a University of Louisville campus parking lot.

The message "UK wins" was etched into cars the night of the Governor's Cup.

University police said they have a person of interest.  Surveillance cameras show a man wearing brown shorts and a black shirt vandalizing cars.  The video also shows the man driving away in a black car.

“This is like mind-blowing to see this,” Daniel Durbin, a sophomore, said as he looked out on the parking lot.

In total, 39 cars were vandalized.

“Look what happened to my car,” Jennifer Schaefer, a freshman, said.

In addition to her car being scratched, all four of her tires were slashed.

When students saw the damage for the first time Sunday morning, the parking lot was full of chaos.

Officers said they spent much of the afternoon dusting for fingerprints and students said they are wondering what happens now.

“Is the college going to pay for this...because I don't have the money to.  And, it's not my fault,” sophomore Rupal Lad said.

The university is covering the cost of towing the vehicles, but not the repairs.

Many students are now unwilling to risk another night.

“I’m not going to park here anymore,” one U of L student said.
