LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Allergy season is in full swing in Kentuckiana. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America ranks Louisville as the sixth allergy capital in the United States.
Dr. Damon Coyle works at Family Allergy and Asthma in Louisville. He told WHAS11 News that ragweed is one of the biggest causes of fall allergies right now. He said his office is also currently seeing a lot of people with mold allergies because it has been such a wet start to fall.
There are several ways you can get your sniffling and sneezing under control. Dr. Coyle says if you do have allergies, it is best to limit being outdoors. He also recommends taking over-the-counter antihistimines. He also says that if you are having to take an over-the-counter medication every day, you may want to consider prescriptions as an alternative. He says if your symptoms are severe enough, an allergy shot may be the best way to go.
