BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WHAS11) -- The medical examiner in Birmingham, Ala. has ruled out a pilot medical problem as the cause of a UPS plane crash last month.

The coroner said  the two-person flight crew died from blunt force injuries they suffered when the Airbus A-300 slammed into an open field near the city's airport Aug. 14 after taking off from Louisville.

A NTSB preliminary report shows no sign of engine failure or fire aboard the jet and the crew did not report any trouble before the crash.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
