Adair Co. boy severely burned after accident; school sets up fund

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) – A child from Kentucky is fighting to stay alive after an accident left him with severe burns to 95 percent of his body.

A Facebook page has been set up asking for prayers for 9-year-old Dawson Fisher who is in critical condition after being hurt in a weekend car fire.

Investigators say his grandfather and another man were working on a car when it caught fire.

Dawson was transported to Cincinnati Shriner’s Children’s Hospital to a specialized burn unit for treatment.

A recent Facebook post says doctors will perform another round of surgery on Dawson Tuesday to remove burned skin.

Next week he’s scheduled for facial surgery if swelling stays down.

Dawson is a second grade student at Adair Primary Center and staff members there have set up a fund to accept donations.
