LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Northbound Interstate 65 is still closed in Hart County, Ky. following an accident Monday morning involving hazardous material.
Authorities say that accident, which happened around 7:00 Monday morning, is at mile marker 56.
A Kentucky State Police spokesperson says a semi-truck carrying 36,000 pounds of battery acid overturned on the interstate. It's not clear how much of that acid leaked onto the roadway, but police say the cleanup could take as long as 10 hours.
The recommended detour is William Natcher Parkway to Western Kentucky Parkway.
