LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A lawyer defending former state Rep. Steve Nunn against a charge of murder has asked a court to release funds that Nunn intended to be used for his lawyer's fee.
Nunn's attorney, Warren Scoville, filed a motion Monday seeking to have proceeds from the sale of Nunn's Glasgow home released.
The 57-year-old former lawmaker and son of former Gov. Louie Nunn is accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Amanda Ross on Sept. 11 outside her Lexington home. He has pleaded not guilty.
Also Monday, Nunn asked a Fayette County Circuit Court judge to postpone a lawsuit filed against him by the family of his slain ex-fiancee. Nunn wants the case put on hold until after the criminal matter is resolved.
The Courier-Journal reports a hearing is scheduled for Friday morning.
