Louisville shooting victims are mother, son

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two people at an apartment complex near Lake Dreamland.

A police spokeswoman told WAVE-TV in Louisville that officers responding to calls about gunshots found a man and a woman dead outside a building late Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner Gayle Norris identified them on Friday as mother and son. Norris said 29-year-old Steve Wood Jr. died of multiple gunshot wounds and 50-year-old Diana Wood died from a single gunshot wound.

Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said a lot of people were home when the shootings occurred and there were a number of witnesses police were interviewing.
