LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A former state lawmaker charged in the fatal shooting of his former fiancee has been indicted on wanton endangerment charges in Hart County.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that state Rep. Steve Nunn was indicted this week. The grand jury charged that Nunn fired a gun near six police officers on Sept. 11, just hours after Amanda Ross was killed in Lexington.

Police have said Nunn did not point the gun at them at the Hart County cemetery where he was arrested.

Police wanted to question Nunn because Ross had taken out an emergency protection order against him after alleging that he had hit her.

Nunn has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in Ross' death.
