MASSILLON, Ohio (AP) — Administrators in one Ohio school district will now have to answer to a high school senior elected to the school board.
Unofficial results from northeast Ohio's Stark County show Kathryn Knowles has won a four-year term to one of three available board seats in the Jackson Local district. The 18-year-old voted for the first time in Tuesday's election and attends Jackson High School in Massillon (MAS'-ih-lawn), about 50 miles south of Cleveland.
Knowles had said she wanted to help her school and the school district. She calls the experience of the campaign "phenomenal."
