(WHAS11)-The city of Louisville has appeared to reach a tentative deal with local firefighter regarding overtime pay.
Mayor Abramson says that the system for calculating overtime pay has been in place since the 70's.
The tentative deal could settle two lawsuits that date back more than 10 years.
The suits allege firefighters were underpaid by tens of millions of dollars.
The exact terms of the settlement have not been released.
The 793 firefighters involved in the suit have to approve the deal, as well as the Louisville Metro Council.
