FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - State police say former Kentucky lawmaker Steve Nunn has been released from a Bowling Green hospital and lodged in the Hart County jail on charges of wanton endangerment.

Kentucky State Police spokesman Charles Swiney made the announcement late Monday morning.

The 56-year-old Nunn was placed under guard at The Medical Center of Bowling Green on the charges Friday, the same day that his ex-girlfriend was shot to death outside her Lexington town house.

Police found Nunn hours after the shooting at the Cosby cemetery in Hart county with what appeared to be self-inflicted wrist wounds that were not life-threatening.

Nunn has not been charged in the slaying. State police are holding him on six counts of wanton endangerment for allegedly brandishing a .38 caliber handgun when he was found in the cemetery.
