(WHAS11) - The Bullitt East Chargers are celebrating despite losing a big rivalry game to Bullitt Central.

Injured player Jesse Bratchertook the field for the first time since suffering a helmet-to-helmet collision which left him in a coma.

Bratcher suited up in his #32 jersey and lead the team onto the field, he didn't play in the game instead he cheered on his team from the sidelines.

Two weeks ago, Bratcher was still in a coma.

His coaches say it was great to see Jesse back on the field.

"Just to be here, we all know he's made dramatic improvement but to actually see him, I think it's gonna be uplifting for a lot of people," said Bullitt East Head Coach Doug Preston.
