(WHAS11) - The youth group connected to a December tragedy took time Saturday to remember the four Louisville teenagers who died in a car crash.

All four were leaving a Youth Alive event.

Jemar, Demar and Marc Claybrooks and their friend Aaron Shields were reportedly told to catch a ride with 16-year-old instead of leaving in a Youth Alive van.

But police say that driver was in a stolen car and crashed after fleeing from police.

Saturday, Youth Alive says a private firm is conducting an internal investigation and there are new developments with the criminal investigation.

"Youth Alive staff members were contacted by LMPD, asked to participate in criminal investigation. My understanding is several of the staff have made appointments and will conduct interviews with LMPD," says Rita Hayes of Youth Alive.

Hayes says the investigation prevents Youth Alive from releasing some information sooner.

But she says one staff member has been placed on paid administrative leave following questions about her actions that night.
