Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Teachers and friends of the victims are remembering the boys, who all lived in the same neighborhood.

Four lives have been cut tragically short.

One of the boys' parents says there is no way his son knew the driver of the car.

WHAS11's Adrianna Hopkins learned from several people that all four of the boys were respectful, enjoyable and had potential.

Christopher 2x talked to both families and WHAS11 News talked to neighbors who had nothing but praise for the victims.

"They explained these children to me as what they would like other children to see as examples. They had challenges as young teenagers, but they liked structure," says Christopher 2x.

That's how the parents of twin brothers Jemar and Demar and younger brother Marc, describe the boys. They say the three were inseparable, and friends with 15-year-old Arron Shields.

"They always said I'm going to play basketball. They and their friends would come out here and play basketball. They were just enjoyable kids," says neighbor Ramone Thorton.

"They were very good little guys. They weren't out here taking cars. They weren't bad kids. They were very respectful fellas," says another neighbor.

"They were exemplary students. All four of them maintained a B average. Two only missed one day of school and the other two only missed two days of school. They were good students with very good behavior," says PRP Principal David A. Johnson.

"The [Claybrooks'] mother described her state of mind as a paralyzed state of mind. It's not real, it's not a reality, but it is a reality. How do you even speak to and describe a loss of three boys? You can't describe one boy. But to lose three in such a violent way, in a snap of a finger, it's unreal," says 2X.

Chris 2x also said the parents want to make it very clear that they're confident their sons didn't know the 16-year-old driver. In fact, they sent their children to the Youth Alive event on a van and expected the boys to come back on the van. Now, the parents want to know why the boys didn't return on the van.
