Funeral arrangements have been made for the four teenagers killed Thursday night in the deadly crash that took their lives and sent the driver of the stolen vehicle to the hospital.
The father of three of the teenagers, Marc Hampton, says his sons and their friend got into the stolen car because a van from " Youth Alive" was full. He says his sons and their friend did not know the driver personally and were good kids who did well in school, were never in trouble and never out running the streets; the kind of kids everybody wants.
16-year-old twins Jemar and Demar Claybrooks and their 14-year-old brother Marc Claybrooks, Jr. were killed, along with their friend 15-year-old Arron Shields. The 16-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle ran from police, and after a short 5-block chase, crashed the car into a tree at 1st and Hill Streets.
Hampton said, "My kids didn't know this boy; no more than you know someone at the gym you see exercising everyday; for them to be like we were friends, no."
Visitation for the three Claybrooks' brothers will be Monday night, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lampton Baptist Church, at Fourth and Breckenridge Streets, downtown.
Their funeral will be at the church on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a-m.
The visitation for Aaron Shields is Christmas night, Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church. His funeral is Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Baptist Church.
