(WHAS11) - It was day two of a night racing experiment at Churchill Downs and again fans poured in. But this time they did not have to wait as long to be poured a glass.
Over 27,000 people went to "Downs after Dark" Friday night, which is slightly lower than last week's debut of 28,000. But still much better than a normal Friday night of 7500. And the beer lines? People say they were much improved as well..
"This week has been great. The service is just so much better. There are so many people running the beer booths and everything... It's great, it's great," said one returning fan.
"Well it was kinda terrible because there were people everywhere and it was like 30 minutes to get a beer... But it is much better this week."
In fact, Churchill Downs says they doubled the number of places you could get drinks and tripled the amount of wait staff from three hundred to nine hundred people.
The final run for "Downs after Dark" is next Thursday, July 2nd.
