(WHAS11) - The government wants more Americans to get their flu shots this winter after a new report shows just a fraction of those at risk get the vaccination.
The centers for disease control and prevention shows that in Indiana only 17.7% of children ages 6 to 23 months were vaccinated.
73% of seniors got a flu shot.
Flu shots begin in Louisville on October 1 and experts say make an appointment now, everyone is at risk.
Nationwide, the CDC recommends a flu vaccine for as many as 261 million Americans.
