(WHAS11) - A memorial will be held Wednesday for 107-year-old veteran, Robley Rex.
He died just days before his 108th birthday.
Rex was an advocate for veterans' rights for more than 80 years and logged thousands of volunteer hours at the VA hospital.
The Okolona VFW is having a memorial service Wednesday at 6 p.m.
It will be in the Robley Rex Hall at the VFW located at 4205 Lambert Road.
Rex's family has requested a private funeral.
He'll be buried at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.
