INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana State Department of Health has confirmed eight more cases of swine flu, increasing to 36 the number of people in the state known to have become sick from the flu strain.
The agency said Friday that six of the new cases were in Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, and one each in Elkhart and Putnam counties.
The only counties in the state with more than two total cases confirmed over the last two weeks are Marion County with 20 and Lake County with seven.
State health officials did not release any information on the seriousness of the illnesses.
