(WHAS11) -A longtime eyesore in the heart of downtown Louisville's s growing Main Street district is now coming down.
Monday, crews began to demolish the 8th Street electrical tower.
Last Thursday, Metro Council members and Museum Plaza developers also debated re-opening 7th Street.
Council members said there had been little progress on that issue.
Museum Plaza is on indefinite hold until the developers get new financing. There is no construction underway of the project.
The building would be expected to be the tallest in Louisville and will include condos, offices, and shops.
Crews should be finished with the demolition by Friday.
