(WHAS11) Holiday World, in Santa Claus Indiana, is giving back to Louisville families in need.
Holiday World has so far delivered 16,000 cans and boxes of food to Louisville's Dare to Care Food Bank.
The food was collected through the park's Feeding Families Food Drive, which allows families to drop off two food items and spend $5 during their day at the park.
"Our goal is over 200,000 items year-to-date. We started in May, so we have over 50,000 now and we hope to double that amount by the end of June," said a spokesperson for the park. They will make another drop off tomorrow.
If you are headed to Holiday World, they are asking for donation of shelf-stable meals and high protein canned goods.
The program continues through June.
