FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says scam artists may be using the swine flu to swindle people.
Conway says there's been a recent uptick in Internet domain names related to the swine flu. Conway says some of the sites are advertising ways for people to protect themselves or their families from the recent swine flu outbreak.
But, Conway says, some of the sites are gimmicks where con artists are looking to sell useless products or steal people's identities. He says links contained in e-mails regarding swine flu may also contain computer viruses.
Conway says consumers should rely on official Web sites to get their information.
