(WHAS11) -Sunday, nearly five dozen metro police officers arrived in Washington to help secure the capitol for Tuesday's inauguration.

After checking in to their rooms, the group will wake up early on Monday for a briefing from the secret service.

They'll learn what to watch out for as they take their posts Tuesday morning along the parade route and mall near the capitol.

While they have an important job, the group of 58 says they feel honored to be there.

The group from LMPD joins roughly 4,000 other officers from around the nation.

And Washington D.C. police pick up the entire tab for travel, hotels, and food.
