(WHAS11) -City crews were outside our station Monday putting up one of two new signs declaring that a portion of Armory Place will be renamed Chuck Olmstead Way, in honor of our friend and colleague.

At the request of WHAS11 Television, the Louisville Metro Council passed the resolution honoring the late Chuck Olmstead.

Chuck worked at WHAS11 from 1975 until his untimely death in March 2009 from a brain aneurysm at the age of 60. You can view Chuck's WHAS11 biography

The signs will be covered for now and will be publicly unveiled Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.

Chuck's family invites everyone to attend the unveiling and they have given us a Thank You card to share with the community for their love and support. You can view the card
