Home of the Innocents receives financial boost from Congressman John Yarmuth

(WHAS11) A financial boost for the Home of the Innocents: Congressman John Yarmuth handed over a check today for $285,000 for the expansion of the children's village.

The children's village provides 24-hour care and counseling to children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected.

"They are the reason that we are all standing here, developing this beautiful place and that were growing into the future to meet future needs of kids all over Kentucky and southern Indiana," a Home of the Innocents spokesperson said.

The Home of the Innocents capital campaign is $3.3 million short.

The organization said the money received will help close the gap to the reach their financial goal.
