(WHAS11) - Most people have a favorite variety and perhaps even a favorite story about Girl Scout cookies.

Its cookie selling season and WHAS11 wondered how the economy is affecting cookie sales.

The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana told us they will determine over the next couple months whether the economy is affecting purchases.

Girl Scout cookie prices remain the same this year at $3.50 a box.

To send those in the military a taste of home, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana has teamed up with the National Guard to send cookies to those serving overseas.

In case you were wondering, the best selling cookie in our area is the Samoa.

The national top seller is Thin Mint.
