EDMONTON, Ky. (AP) -- State police have charged a teen with killing his father and holding a woman hostage in south-central Kentucky.
Police say the 17-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was seen removing a body from a home near Edmonton on Thursday night.
The teen was jailed in an Adair County juvenile center and charged with murder, unlawful imprisonment, evidence tampering and terroristic threatening. Police said they recovered a "blunt instrument" they believe was used as a weapon.
The victim was identified as 54-year-old Robert H. Fritz, of Edmonton. An autopsy was planned.
Police received a call from an Indiana woman who said her mother was being held hostage by her teenage neighbor. The 43-year-old woman was unharmed. Police say she had been living at the home due to a recent fire at her neighboring home.
