(WHAS11) - On Wednesday, 14 people, 13 of them veterans, were in arraignment court for what's being called a kickback scheme.
The U.S. Attorney in Louisville says two men arranged the scheme.
They are Jeffrey Allan McGill of Lagrange, who is a veteran's affairs service representative, and Daniel Ryan Parker from Crestwood.
They say those two convinced a dozen veterans to file false disability claims and that's when the checks came and they got kickbacks.
Together, investigators say the kickback fraud netted nearly $2 million dollars.
