A 6-year-old Bowling Green girl is recovering Tuesday downtown at Kosair Children’s Hospital after a pit bull violently attacked her.
Elisa Fannin is now in stable condition after spending much of the day in surgery reconstructing her face.
Relatives say the girl was playing at a friend's apartment in Bowling Green when she went into the bathroom where the pit bull had been locked up.
Bowling Green Police say the pit bull went straight for Fannin's face and it took the help of a neighbor to get the dog off the girl.
The pit bull is in quarantine at the Warren County Humane Society and authorities say the same dog had been picked up for aggression once before.
