4th accuser comes forward in LMPD Explorer case

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Another accuser has come forward in the Metro Police Explorer case and also filed suit. This is the fourth accuser to come forward.

A teenage girl, going by the initials K.W., filed a suit alleging sexual misconduct while she was in the program that mentored children hoping to be officers one day. The Explorer program has since been suspended.

Her attorney is David Yates. He represents at least three other former Explorers with allegations against former police officers.

There are four current and former officers named in the various lawsuits: Kenneth Betts, Brandon Wood, Curtis Flaherty and Brad Schumann.

The former U.S. attorney based in Lexington is investigating. Kerry Harvey was hired by the mayor.
