BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A 22-month-old girl has died after being hit by a car in southeastern Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police say 44-year-old Scott Rose didn't see the girl when he pulled onto a roadway Monday in Barbourville. Police say Rose saw two other children with the toddler and waited for them to get out of the road.
Police say the girl fell under the 2013 Ford Mustang and was hit by the back wheel.
She was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, but died from her injuries. Her name wasn't released.
The collision is still under investigation, but police say no alcohol or drug use is suspected.
