LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – An estimated 200 people spent Saturday morning “Fighting for Air” in Louisville’s first Vertical Run.
The stair climb at the National City Tower challenged participants to jog up 38-stories from the bottom of the building to the top amounting to 780 steps.
The American Lung Association hosted the event, raising money towards researching cures for lung disease and raising awareness about clean air initiatives.
“I lost both my grandfather and uncle growing up so this is a great opportunity to bring as much attention as possible,” participant Andrew Dahl said.
There are also “Fight for Air” climbs in 60 other U.S. cities.
