LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two patients, at Kosair Children's Hospital, are getting awesome new state-of-the-art playhouses and it’s all thanks to Youth Build and Kosair Charities.
Each playhouse is specially designed, built and decorated for its recipient. The child is involved in each step of the process. They're meant to not only enhance the child's life, but also serve as help with therapy.
“The piece of the pie that's the best is when the children actually see their house for the first time and they're able to really let their imagination start to soar. And what we find is that every young person who's gotten a house so far has found independence, by being able to play in their playhouse,” Lynn Rippey, the executive director for Youth Build Louisville, said.
The playhouses will be on display at the 2013 Homearama-- before heading to the kids' backyards.
