WOODFOORD COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two Kentucky teens are dead and another was injured after a crash in Woodford County at 12:20 a.m., Friday.
Police said 18-year-old Destinee Barr, of Shephardsville, Ky., was driving a 2005 silver Kia on Ky. 341 and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of US 421. A 1997 Dodge pick-up truck was traveling on US 421. Barr failed to yield the right of way to the truck driver and Barr pulled out in front of the truck. The truck hit the Kia on the driver's side.
Two female passengers were in Barr’s car. One passenger, 18-year-old Miranda Smith of Louisville, is in stable condition at University of Kentucky Hospital. The second passenger, 19-year-old Marissa Elmore of Louisville, was pronounced dead at the scene, said the Woodford County Coroner.
Barr was also pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck had only minor injuries.
Students, staff, and faculty at North Bullitt County High School were already on campus this morning when they got the heartbreaking news that three of their recent graduates were involved in a fatal accident just hours before.
The investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
