LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman is behind bars awaiting a court date on felony charges.

According to the arrest warrant, 30-year-old Tia Brown was arrested on custodial interference charges.

Police said on two separate occasions Brown refused to return her son to his custodial father. Brown was granted visitation from a Baltimore, Md. court and in July of last year she refused to give the child over when the father showed up at her Louisville residence to pick up the 2-year-old after a scheduled visitation.

Court documents state Brown went to Baltimore for her scheduled visitation Feb. 1. Despite a court order to remain in Baltimore during her visitation, Brown left Maryland and returned to Louisville with the child. Police said she failed to return him at the assigned time.

Browns mother notified the father that the child was in Louisville and the father called authorities.

Brown is now charged with two counts of felony custodial interference.
