LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) --A contracted employee of a Louisville car lot was arrested Friday after he was accused of theft.
According to the police report, 63-year-old James Barnsfather was working as a buyer/seller contract employee at Mike's Motors on Preston Highway when he used funds from the car lot to buy vehicles and sell them to other car lots, pocketing the money for personal gain.
Police said Barnsfather would ask for the checks to made out in his name and he would deposit the checks into his personal bank account. The report states Barnsfather pocketed $281,387.
Barnsfather is charged with theft by deception.
