LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- About 150 new soldiers are coming to Fort Knox by October.

The 42nd Clearance Company is relocating from Germany to Kentucky.

The unit gathers information, performs minesweeping operations, and assists friendly forces during missions.

Once they come to Fort Knox--the 42nd Clearance Company will fall under the 19th Engineer Battalion, making it the army's largest.

The army says the new soldiers and their families are expected to boost the local economy by $6 million.
