BOONEVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Police in eastern Kentucky say 1 man died and another injured by a gunshot after the two got into an argument involving an all-terrain vehicle.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Paul Blanton says investigators found 71-year-old Abner Gabbard dead from an apparent gunshot would Saturday night near Booneville. Blanton told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/10dgiU3 ) that 25-year-old Andy Smith had also been shot in a confrontation with Gabbard.
Blanton says the dispute concerned complaints by Gabbard that Smith was riding an all-terrain vehicle near or on his property. Blanton says the two men exchanged gunfire.
Smith was treated at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. Blanton says Smith hasn't been arrested and the investigation is continuing.
