LOUISVILLE, Ky., (WHAS11)— Six Jefferson County Public Schools are sharing just over $1 million in federal money to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for college.
Central, Fern Creek, Moore and Shawnee high schools and Moore and Western middle schools will receive the funding. It will be used to pay for academic, personal and career counseling.
The money is expected to help about 500 students who would be the first in their families to go to college.
