LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro government continues to round up vehicles they say have been used for illegal dumping of trash, tires and even appliances.
On Wednesday Public Works impounded a third vehicle since the new illegal dumping ordinance took effect. It's part of the new illegal dumping law that has residents working with the city. People found to have dumped waste illegally can now be cited, their vehicle impounded for at least six months, and potentially face thousands of dollars in fines.
Public Works tells WHAS11 the owner of the truck towed Wednesday, Vincent Madden, was caught dumping household items like doors and debris in the woods at the corner of Lower Hunters Trace and Green Belt Highway.
