LMPD investigating incident at downtown Louisville business

There are still a lot more questions than answers from an incident that had parts of downtown shut down earlier on Monday.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- LMPD is investigating a possible armed robbery that took place Monday morning in downtown Louisville.

The incident occurred at 8UP Elevated Drinkery and Kitchen located at the top of the Hilton Garden Inn on the corner of Fourth St. and Chestnut.

The call came in around 5:30 a.m. when the crew was getting ready for the breakfast crowd. It is not clear how many people were inside at the time of the incident. 

One person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The robber did get away with some cash. 

The scene was cleared around 7:30 a.m.

Police are still searching for suspects at this time and no arrest have been made.

This morning has been a very difficult one for our team. The safety and security of our guests and staff is always the highest priority for us. We are working closely with the Louisville Metro Police Department to help in any way they need. At this time, we do not have anyone available for interviews.
