Legislation pre-filed for gun storage safety

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- In just the last month, Louisville has seen two incidents where young children have accidentally shot themselves. Now, a Louisville lawmaker is taking action to change that.

State Sen. Gerald Neal said he is filing legislation calling for a person to be charged if they store a gun without a trigger lock that could get into the hands of a child.

Sen. Neal said the recent shootings could have been prevented.
