MURRAY, Ky. (WHAS11) – A suspect has been apprehended and being questioned after an alleged gunman was spotted on campus causing a lockdown at Murray State University.
The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. CDT when public safety official say they began receiving calls on campus about a man with a long gun roaming near the Franklin Residential College.
According to the Paducah Sun, a suspect was placed in custody around 11:30 p.m. and the lockdown was canceled 30 minutes before.
Authorities said no shots were fired and no injuries were reported. They are asking if anyone notices any other suspicious activity to call to MSU Police at 270-809-2222.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
