FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The Floyd County Prosecutor spoke to the media on Wednesday about an unexpected move by serial killer William Clyde Gibson.
During the second day of jury selection on Tuesday, Gibson pleaded guilty to killing Stephanie Kirk of Charlestown, Indiana.
Gibson's trial was supposed to be held in Floyd County in late June.
Prosecutor Keith Henderson said the plea saves a lot of time and money for the county and is good for Kirk's family.
Gibson was sentenced to death in November for another woman's murder and pleaded guilty to a third murder as well.
He will be sentenced in July for Stephanie Kirk's murder.
