A Louisville police chase ends in a crash sending the suspect to the hospital.

Police say it started on I-65 South but they backed off when the man started driving north in the southbound lanes.

He then got off the interstate at Eastern Parkway near U of L.

A witness says he barely missed hitting her car but hit another vehicle, knocked over a fire hydrant, and crashed into a tree.

“I sat there and I thanked God. I don't know. It's really scary,” said Linda Greenwell who witnessed the crash.

Police say the suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
