(WHAS11)-We have new information tonight about the woman whose body was found in a suitcase near a dumpster today.

The body of Dorie Eppler was discovered this morning behind the cornerstone apartments on East Kentucky street.

The night felt restless in Old Louisville /Thursday as neighbors walked streets recently shared with a murderer.

45-year-old Dorie Eppler's body was found stuffed into luggage near a dumpster behind an apartment complex Thursday morning.

Yvette Daniels knew Eppler the way most people in Old Louisville did...
as the small waitress at Ollie's Trolley, where she was a fixture for years.

“I know at least 10 years she was there, “ said Daniels.

“Stayed to herself, really,” said neighbor Steve Batts. “There ain't nothing I noticed about her besides that.”

Steven Batts often passed Eppler as she walked to work.

“I haven't seen her It's been at least a week,” said Batts.

“It don't surprise me,” said Old Louisville resident Billy Wedding. “I’ve seen her before. it's so sad. Especially when it hits home.”

Police are not saying much about the case, except that they do believe the cause of death was homicide.

On Eppler's My Space page, she says her three sons are her heroes and that she's looking to date someone who will stay with her through thick and thin.

A wish someone took away.

“Who can sleep at night,” said Wedding. “I mean, that's ridiculous.”

So far, police have not made an arrest in the case.

If you have information, contact police at 574-LMPD.
