(WHAS11) - A woman who does not want to be identified says she was already on edge about sending her 1-and-a-half-year-old son to Trina's Treehouse on Cane Run Road.
“We expect when we send our kids there they come back in the same condition as we sent them,” said the woman.
The mother says she was uneasy after hearing about 3-year-old Jacorey Davis.
Davis had been going to Trina's Treehouse's other location on 32nd and Broadway in the West End.
Two weeks ago the 3-year-old was found unresponsive at the daycare, employees called 911 for help.
“Calm Down, you have to calm down. You have to be able to help me baby,” said the daycare employee on the recording.
Jacorey Davis died at the hospital after choking on a push-pin. Where the child got the pin is still unclear.
Hours later the state shut down that location after finding it was under-staffed.
Last Thursday a mother says her young son came home with a bruise on his face and blood shot eye.
She claims she confronted the owner that night.
We found in 2010 the state cited the daycare's location on Cane Run Road after finding only one employee watching 10 infants.
A few months later the state was back at the daycare investigating after a child suffered a skull fracture. The state says they could not determine where or how the child was hurt but the daycare was cited that day for letting an unqualified 16 year old care for 7 children.
In 2011 we also found that Trina's Treehouse was cited once again for being understaffed.
