(WHAS11)   In a Bullitt County courtroom Monday, two people charged in the death of a newborn.

Samuel Harris and Courtney Caro both pleaded not guilty to charges related to the death of 4-month-old Aiden, who died January 11.

Police said Harris, the mother’s boyfriend, threw Aiden on a sofa and beat him to death when the child wouldn’t stop crying.

Harris is charged with murder.  Caro is charged with two counts of criminal abuse.

Police said the two repeatedly abused Aiden and his twin brother Braiden, who is now in child protective custody.

A trial date for both is set for August.
